History & Heritage
The Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (RCEME) has had a long distinguished history of dedicated service in the defence of our country. The Corps of RCEME traces it roots to 1944, when RCEME was formed to maintain the army's equipment. The Corps has evolved to its present form by adjusting its functions and structure in response to changing operational requirements and technological advances. The aim of the Corps of RCEME is to provide the engineering and maintenance support to permit other arms and services to accomplish their mission.
The RCEME Corps also manages a large database of historical information: documents, photos, articles and anecdotes from 1903 to present day. On the History and Heritage drop-down menu, select the "RCEME Historical Database" to have public access to a wealth of information.
